about

What's driving Hip-Hop content today? The amount of Patron in your cup? The money in your bank account? Where would the music be without these lyrical weapons? Straying from these worldly topics takes the listener back to the essence of what lyrics aught to be, The Dopeness. Inspired by the film The Wackness, Pennsylvania native Luke O'Brien, the frontman for the Hip-Hop band A Cool Stick, gives the listener the pure thoughts and observations of a 22 year-old promoting optimism. William Gale, a California producer, provides the soulful instrumentals. Gale can talk about Hip-Hop with knowledge and wit for as long as you'll allow him. Meeting each other in Baltimore, the two created The Dopeness, an album born out of a shared satirical outlook on the present condition of pop music. When they began this project, "club single" was not in their vocabulary; rather thier focus was on real life issues and the expression of self through music. DutchMasters Music presents: The Dopeness by Luke, a welcome splash of honesty in the face of Hip-Hop.
